St Cuthbert’s Way, a 100km trail from the Scottish Borders to Holy Island, was recently voted the most romantic long distant trail in the Country. The Coast, Northumberland National Park and Kielder Water/ Forest Park are classified as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty whilst, Hadrian’s Wall is a World Heritage Site boasting stunning landscapes. Longer distance routes such as St Cuthbert’s Way, St Oswald’s Way and The Pennine Way are also in close proximity.
Northumberland is renowned for excellent fishing with the Tyne offering the best salmon fishing in English. Sea fishing, river fishing and several fisheries are only a short drive away.
